Owner and operator, Alan and Carrie Whitehurst, founded Vecco, INC. in 1994. The company
was started with a simple vision; to offer alternative solutions to everyday site
development challenges using the latest advances in geosynthetic products and technology.
True to its original vision, Vecco has grown into the only Georgia company, which offers
in-house design and construction services along with the products we promote and sell.
Vecco’s core business is the supply of geosynthetic products for soil stabilization,
reinforcement, drainage, and control of erosion. In the state of Georgia, we are
exclusive distributors of Synthetic Industries geotextiles and erosion matting as
well as Presto Product’s Geoweb® cellular confinement and Geoblock® porous pavement

Vecco’s construction division currently employs over seventy field staff and technicians.
We own small and specialty equipment including trenchers, skid steer loaders, and compactors.
The scope of work that is routinely performed by Vecco ranges from Silt Fence, Erosion
Matting-temporary and permanent, Soil Anchors, Reinforced/Steepened Slopes to Modular
Block Retaining Wall construction. The strength of our labor force is its experience
with difficult and unique applications including mechanically stabilized earth (MSE)
slopes and walls, gabion structures, revetment systems, pond capping, and voids bridging.
Engineering services provided by Vecco include structural design for bidding, permitting,
and construction of MSE systems utilizing both fill (bottom-up) and in-situ (top-down)
reinforcement technique, hydraulic structures, linear support systems, and working
platforms. Professional services are conducted under the supervision of Norm Amend,
P.E. Mr. Amend is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte School
of Engineering and has nearly ten years of geosynthetic design experience.
Vecco performs public and commercial work. We are bondable at rates, which vary with
contract amounts from 3% to 1.5%. We are insured for liabilities for both construction
and professional services.
